Welcome to the 4th Annual Motorcycle Ride to benefit the USO - Operation Care Package Program to be held this year on Sunday, September 14th at the Osceola Heritage Park - KVLS Pavilion, Kissimmee. We started our ride a few years ago in honor of those who serve our country and as a reminder to them all that they have not been forgotten. Our ride is dedicated to the memory of LCpl Jason Burnett, USMC, who’s life tragically ended May 2006 while serving his country in Iraq. Hundreds of thousands of military personnel are serving in far-off places defending the liberties we hold so dear, away from their families, friends and the comforts of home. To show these troops that they have not been forgotten and to help boost their morale, the USO (United Service Organizations) created “Operation USO Care Package”. Since 2001, the Operation USO Care Package program has distributed care packages to troops deploying to Afghanistan, Iraq and other overseas locations, as well as those arriving and departing on rest and recuperation (R&R) flights. The USO has distributed more than 1.3 million care packages to our men and women in uniform. Due to heightened security, individuals can no longer send letters and packages marked for delivery to "Any Service Member." Through Operation USO Care Package, you can sponsor a care package for just $25 and send along with it a personal message of support and thanks to a service member. Care packages can contain prepaid international phone cards, snacks, sunscreen, disposable cameras, toiletries, compact discs and other items requested by service men and women. Recognized and supported by the Department of Defense, the Operation USO Care Package program is a way to send a message to encouragement, thanking the troops for their service and sacrifice. Our troops need your support now more than ever! Sponsor an Operation USO Care Package today |
