6^th Annual USO Motorcycle Benefit Ride

This year celebrates the 6^th Annual USO Motorcycle Benefit Ride Supporting Our Troops and will be held at the Osceola Heritage Park, 1911 Kissimmee Valley Lane., in Kissimmee, Florida on September 18, 2010.  Once again this event is dedicated to LCpl Jason Burnett, USMC, the first Osceola County resident killed in the line of duty, along with other fallen warriors from Florida serving our country during this War on Terrorism.

Many of us on the USO Benefit Ride Committee are in business ourselves. We understand the need for our business to be recognized and to have our marketing dollar go farther. This year we have worked diligently to come up with a much more robust sponsorship program.

Our first ride in 2005, we had approximately 250 riders. We have grown to just under 1,000 in 2008. It is our expectation that 2010 will be even bigger. The USO Benefit Ride is now recognized as the largest USO ride in the State and the 3^rd largest ride in Central Florida. Through our advertisements and marketing initiatives we are now reaching approximately 5,000 American citizens throughout Florida and the United States.

One of the missions that we as a group take very much to heart is that all of the  proceeds from the ride support the “Operation USO Care Package Jacksonville” program. Since 2001, the USO has delivered more than 1.3 million care packages to our military’s men and women.  With each $25 donation, a care package is created which sends a message of support to deployed members of the U.S. Armed Forces, providing them each with a “touch of home”.
